Holding the Headlines: A space for mind, heart, and body in times of endless crises

Paying attention to the news can stir up a lot of emotions, emotions that don't often have a healthy outlet. So often, discussions of current events turn into frustrating arguments or end in helpless shrugs.

Rather than fostering debate or brainstorming solutions, this gathering is intended to provide a space for people to understand and articulate how we hold the headlines in our minds, hearts, and bodies.

Drawing on the frameworks of Nonviolent Communication and Joanna Macy's Work That Reconnects, we'll spend some time in quiet reflection, paired dialogues, and contemplative journaling in order to explore and express our feelings about what it's like to live through this time of crises big and small.

Facilitation will be in English, with opportunities for discussion and writing in English or Romanian.

📍Where? Education Studio, Cluj-Napoca, str. Tipografiei, nr. 1 (entrance across the street from Meron cafe at Central shopping center), interfon 030, first floor.

📆 When? Saturday the 28th of February, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

🙋 Facilitator: Anthony Sorge is a teacher, writer and Education Studio volunteer with twenty years of experience teaching English language and literature. He believes in the power of writing, reflection, and relationality to help make the world a more peaceful place.

🎟️ To sign up for this event, we ask you to register and purchase a ticket by completing a short form, so we can have your spot ready.

🎟️ You can purchase multiple tickets in one order (if you are coming with a friend for example), but each of you has to complete a registration form.

🌀 Once you purchase a ticket, your spot will be saved at the workshop. If for any reason you can no longer attend the workshop, you can give your spot to a friend to attend. The money from your purchase will not be returned if you don't attend, and it will only be refunded if the workshop will be cancelled.
